Lungworm risk for Cattle

The arrival of rain after the prolonged period of warm, dry weather will increase the risk of lungworm in grazing cattle

First year grazing cattle will have very little immunity & will be at high risk, and older cattle may also be susceptible if the challenge is high. This disease can kill cattle very quickly

Lungworm is caused by a parasite and this worm is a heavy egg producer. It is estimated that a single infected calf may contaminate a pasture with 33 million larvae
